Rich Busch, Jake DiStasio and Allan Haynes each scored twice as Williamstown had little problem in defeating Cherokee II 12-1 at Hollydell on Friday night. The game was scoreless for the first eight minutes, and then Williamstown had a 2-man advantage and capitalized as Kyle Parks would put home a rebound of a Brandon Mead shot for a 1-0 lead. Just about one minute later Haynes would get his first of the night on a deflection and it was 2-0.

The nicest goal of the night came when Nick Gomez made a great move around the defender to break n 2-on-1 with DiStasio, after the initial save John Humphrys was there for the rebound at it was 3-0. Goals by Matt Asis and Gomez in the final minute had the game at 5-0. A seven goal second period would end the game, scoring for the Braves in that period was Chris Brown, DiStasio twice, Haynes, Brandon Mead, and Busch got the last two. Scoring the lone Chief goal on a short-handed breakaway was Tim Connolly.

Notes: With the crossover games between Tier 1 and Tier 2, unfortunately sometimes you will have one-sided contests; let’s hope there are not that many.
