Cherokee built a 4-0 lead in the second period and hung on for a 5-4 win over Washington Township in SJHSIHL action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Cole Zucker led the Chiefs with two goals; Garrett Quinn led the Township attack with two goals. After Zucker gave Cherokee a 1-0 lead by scoring the only goal of the first period, the Chiefs would score three goals in less than three minutes early into the second period to lead 4-0.

Zucker would make it 2-0 in the opening minute of the period and David Mazilli would notch his fourth goal of the year to put the Chiefs up 3-0. Defenseman Joe Brunner would give the Chiefs a 4-0 advantage before Township would get on the board. Quinn would get Township going with just under four minutes left in the period to make it 4-1. Patrick Curiale would cut the lead in half at 4-2 as he scored his first goal of the season in the final ninety seconds. 

With the period winding down, Cherokee was able to get a goal in the final seconds as Casey Forte got his team leading ninth goal to give Cherokee a 5-2 lead heading into the third period. Township would get goals from Quinn and Randy Smith late to draw within 5-4, but could not get the equalizer. Cherokee remained undefeated at 8-0. Township fell to 1-1.
