After spotting Cherokee II a 1-0 lead after one period, Washington Township used a five goal second period to motor by Cherokee II 7-1 in SJHSIHL action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Michael Buck scored a short-handed goal late in the first period for Cherokee II and despite being out-shot 23-5, the Chiefs led 1-0 thanks to some strong play in nets by James Witkoski.

The shooting gallery would continue in the second period and Township would break through at the eleven minute mark as Kevin Mello would connect on his first goal of the season. Less than two minutes later Garrett Quinn scored an unassisted goal and Township took the lead at 2-1. Patrick Curiale would make it 3-1 less than one minute later, as the senior was coming off a strong performance against Williamstown and continued his solid play for Coach Glick. 

Jason Smith and Jimmy Pollock would score goals thirty second apart in the final three minutes of the period and Township was in command at 5-1. Two goals by Doug Sanders in the third period closed out the scoring.

Notes: Next up for Township is a Friday night date with Cherokee, key game for the Minutemen if they want to improve their spot in the standings.
