Ryan Magin and Tyler Graham each had a goal and two assists to lead Black Horse to an upset win over Clearview 3-2 on Friday night at Hollydell. Clearview led 2-0 after the first period on goals by Taylor Olson and Eric Mitchell, but that was the extent of their offense. Black Horse cut the lead to 2-1 late in the second period as Magin scored a short-handed goal on a feed from Graham.
The third period Clearview spent half the time killing penalties, as Black Horse had four power play opportunities and capitalized on two. With a little over five minutes left in the game Nick Kilcourse got the tying goal as he jammed home a rebound with Magin and Graham getting the helpers. Less than two minutes later Graham ripped home a shot from the slot and Black Horse led 3-2. Clearview’s best chance came in the final seconds as Olson had a close in shot but was stoned by Aaron Wechter to preserve the win.
Notes: Despite playing in Tier II, Black Horse has a 3-2 record against Tier I. Olson spent much of the third period in the penalty box, 12 of the fifteen minutes, and that really hurts the offense of Clearview.
