Eric Mitchell and Taylor Olson each had a hat trick and Mike Vulpio added two goals as Clearview was all over Delran 9-2 in action played at Hollydell. Dan Flaherty stopped 30 shots in goal for Clearview as they pulled into a tie for 4th place with Shawnee. Clearview jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on two goals by Mitchell and on by Olson.
Flaherty turned away all 10 shots in the period and continued his strong play in the second period turning away all 13 shots as the View doubled the lead to 6-0 with Vulpio scoring twice around one goal by Brendon Clark. Mitchell made it 7-0 early in the third period before Delran finally solved Flaherty, scoring a power play goal by Jeff Steinmann, his 11th of the season.
Two goals by Olson, seconds apart had the lead at 9-1 before Mike McFadden scored for Delran to close out the scoring.
Notes: Next up for Clearview is a date with Cherokee, which has handed them their only loss. The line of Mitchell, Olson and Vulpio had their best game of the season and were dominant on every shift, and stayed out of the box. With that kind of effort in the Tournament, they could do some damage.
