Jake DiStasio had a hat trick and Kyle Parks had a goal and three assists as Williamstown used an eight goal second period to defeat Holy Cross 8-1 on Friday night in SJHSIHL action at Hollydell. Brian Clegg scored the lone goal fro Holy Cross as they led 1-0 after the first period. It was the play of Parks that sparked the Braves in the second period as he set-up three straight goals for the Braves in a two minute span early in the period.

DiStasio tied the score at 1-1 as Parks sent in Jonathan Ruiz and he found DiStasio all alone down low for an easy tap-in. Brandon Mead gave the Braves the lead for good two minutes later as Parks fed him at the circle and his blast found the net for a 2-1 advantage. Less than one minute later Ruiz got his first of two goals as DiStasio and Parks assisted. Parks got his first ten seconds later on a feed from Ruiz and the lead grew to 4-1.

The Braves would add four more goals, two by DiStasio and one each by Ruiz and Mead to give Williamstown an 8-1 lead after two. The third period saw the third and fourth lines get a lot of ice time with players trying to set-up guys that don’t often score.
