Shane Lippincott stopped 30 shots and a three goal third period helped the EEW defeated Black Horse 4-1 and clinched the top spot in Tier II as they improved to 15-3-1. Balanced scoring was a key as four different players scored. Chris Miller scored the lone goal of the first period as Nicky Bascou threaded a pass to Miller and his seventh goal of the year gave the EEW a 1-0 lead. Lippincott’s best save came late in the period as he robbed Tyler Graham from in close.

Black Horse scored the only goal of the second period with Kyle Frasier getting the equalizer at the nine minute mark as he put home a rebound of a shot by Matt Bishop. We entered the third period tied at 1-1. The EEW took control in the first thirty seconds scoring a power play goal as Eric Simone was in the right position as Bascou clanged one off the post; Simone jammed home the rebound and a 2-1 lead.

Jared Hand added another power play goal on a pass from Jordan Hutnik who also set up a nice screen and the EEW led 3-1. Lippincott stoned James Malseed in the closing minutes and with the net empty freshman forward Sam Amon scored his first varsity goal to close out the scoring.
