Jared Hand scored two goals and Eric Simone added a goal and two assists as top seed EEW struggled but defeated Lenape/RV 3-0 in Tier II action played late on Friday night at Voorhees. After a scoreless two periods that saw Lenape/RV goalie Cliff Allison make several big saves to keep his team in the game. EEW finally broke through as Simone scored early in the third period lifting a back-hander under the crossbar to give the EEW a 1-0 lead.
Hand would then connect on two power play opportunities, both set-up by Simone, the second coming with Lenape/RV down 2 men. With the 3-0 win the EEW will now face Black Horse in the winner’s bracket final. The EEW won both regular season meetings.
