Jason Spieker and Dylan Bradley scored two goals each as Cherokee kept its title hopes alive with a 7-2 win over Washington Township. The loss eliminated Township from the playoffs. Spieker, whose picture was scattered throughout the skate zone, as a salute to the senior leader in possibly his last game, opened the scoring on the power play midway through the first period as Cherokee took a 1-0 lead. We stayed that way until Kevin Mello put home a rebound of a shot by Garrett Quinn to tie the score at 1-1.

Cherokee would then proceed to score four goals over the next nine minutes to blow open the game. Goals by Spieker and Bradley less than two minutes apart gave the Chiefs a 3-1 lead. Cole Zucker scored a power play goal to give Cherokee a 4-1 lead. Bradley added one late in the period and Cherokee had a 5-1 advantage heading into the final period. Township began the third period on the power play and had a two man advantage for over one minute, but failed to score. Brian Miller scored a power play goal for Cherokee and the lead was 6-1. Township finally capitalized on the power play as Patrick Curiale would score to cut the deficit to 6-2. Casey Forte closed out the scoring in the final seconds as Cherokee will face Williamstown, with the winner advancing to the title.

Notes: Coach Glick kept all seniors on the ice in the final minute which included Garrett Quinn, Pat Curiale, Kevin Mello, Mike Lorence and Steve Sailor. All who were large parts of the success over their four years going 69-11-5.
