Trevor Rucci scored five goals and added three assists as St Joe’s had little trouble in defeating Kingsway 10-2 at Hollydell in late game action in the Olympic division. St Joe’s improved to 10-1 on the season. Rucci and Alex Eberly scored goals twenty four seconds apart in the opening three minutes to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Seth Zolda, playing in just his third varsity game, got his first goal of the season midway through the period for a 3-0 lead. Rucci added a power play goal at the ten minute mark and the lead was 4-0.

Michael Moss scored his ninth goal of the season, equaling his output from last year, to put Kingsway on the board in the final ninety seconds of the period. St Joe’s would blow the game open scoring four unanswered goals in the second period. After Dan McCloskey scored in the first minute of the period Rucci scored ten seconds later and the lead was 6-1. Rucci scored a short-handed goal midway through the period and Nick Corwonski got his second goal of the year late in the period for an 8-1 lead after two. Rucci and Kevin Troy scored for St Joe’s in the third and Kingsway got a goal from JJ Fogelman, his first of the year to finish out the stats.

Notes: With such a talented roster, there is no question that St Joe’s could have played in Tier II and probably competed in Tier 1, and would have been eligible for Flyers Cup had they moved up. Rucci now leads the league with 24 goals scored, as compared to the eight he scored last season.
