Did you know the USA Sled Hockey team won 3 out 4 Gold Medals (2002, 2010, 2014) in the Paralympic games?

Sled Hockey is an adapted sport for disabled adults and youth. The Flyers Sled Hockey team is our home-grown non-profit sled hockey team with an impressive record of multiple league championships, USA Hockey National championship and those awesome Paralympic Gold Medalists.

The game of sled hockey continues to grow providing the opportunity to play a competitive sport to those athletes that might include loss of limb, spina bifida, spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy. We also house Wounded Warriors.

It’s real Hockey, with real hockey rules. The only difference is the equipment.

Along with that is the cost of playing hockey. Many team members incur large personal adaptive equipment and medical costs. Though some of the team’s hockey expenses have been partially offset by donations, our goal, moving forward, is to completely eliminate the hockey costs for the team players of the Flyers Sled Hockey team and to continue to grow the game by adding multiple competitive and entry level teams to the mix.

Heading into the 2017-2018 season and as our game grows, so do the costs of participation. Travel alone has exponentially increased. This season the team will be playing games in Minnesota, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Ohio and Massachusetts.

On Friday, October 6th, 2017 we will be hosting the First Annual Flyers Sled Classic Golf Tournament. To help up launch this effort we welcome, Flyers Alumni, Brad Marsh, Todd Fedoruk, and Bob Kelly. This tournament and your participation as a player or sponsor will help us go a long way in reaching our goals for the future of this program.

Take a look at the attached form and please consider joining us for a fun day of golf and celebrating local athletes with different abilities. We welcome any level of sponsorship to help make a difference in the lives of our current and future players.
