Anthony Carite scored three straight goals in a span of two minutes in the second period to help St Joe’s defeat Middle Township 6-3 in Tier II action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. The two teams would trade goals in the first period with Middle Township taking a 1-0 lead at the three minute mark on a goal by Paul Stryker. Twenty six seconds later Chris Corsaro would tie the game for St Joe’s at 1-1. Less than one minute later St Joe’s would take a 2-1 lead on a nice shot from Robert Diehm as his blast went right under the crossbar. Nico Corsaro would tie the game at 2-2 for Middle thirty three seconds later.

Middle would capitalize on the man advantage late in the period as Malachi Saunders would get his first goal of the season and a 3-2 lead. That lead would last just about one minute as Nicholas Jervas would break in and get the equalizer and we were all even at 3-3 after one period. The second period was all Carite, first he would score a short-handed goal to give St Joe’s the lead for good at 4-3. Just over one minute later he converted a pass from Corsaro and the lead was 5-3. Then with just under two minutes remaining in the period St Joe’s had a three-on two and Carite redirected a nice pass from Kevin Glass into the net to complete his hat trick and a 6-3 lead after two periods. Jervas would get his second of the night at the nine minute mark to close out the scoring.
