Shawnee scored the first goal of the game and got a strong performance in nets from Shay Perry but Cherokee rallied in the third period to defeat Shawnee 3-1 in SJHSHL action played in Voorhees. Aidan McGray scored the only goal of the first period as Shawnee led 1-0. The Chiefs, missing some of their top scorers, had some opportunities but Perry was solid in nets. Shawnee had a golden opportunity at the nine minute mark of the second period as they were awarded a penalty shot with their leading goal scorer, Anthony Poppalardo having the chance but Cherokee goalie Ryan Conrad stoned him to keep it 1-0. Less than two minutes later, with Shawnee on the power play, Jake Kelley stole the puck in the offensive zone and beat Perry for the tying goal.

Early in the third period Michael Andes camped in front of the net and would jam home the puck for his first varsity goal and the Chiefs had the lead at 2-1. Right after killing off a Shawnee power play, Samuel Berger broke in and would convert a nice pass from Max Zeligson to give Cherokee some breathing room at 3-1. Cherokee would finish off the period focusing on defense and escape with the win.
