Thomas Rockey snapped a 1-1 tie with just less than five minutes left in regulation as Clearview defeated St Joe’s 2-1 in the playoff opener for both clubs. Rockey, who split his time on varsity and the JVB team this season, went top shelf from the slot for the game winner to beat Michael Neal who stopped 33 shots and kept Clearview off the board on five power play opportunities. Jason Baselice gave St Joe’s a 1-0 lead after a scoreless first period.

Colin Hughes would blast one from the point as Gavin Reagan won the face-off and Clearview capitalized on the power play opportunity and we were tied at 1-1. The game seemed headed for overtime as both teams played defense first, but Rockey picked up a loose puck in the slot and deposited the game winner.
