Cherry Hill East dominated the second period outshooting HLV 14-2 and scoring three goals, two goals from Johnny Pearson to break a 1-1 game and propel them past HLV 5-2 and force a deciding game in the Tier II championship. After Samuel Swain scored the only goal of the first period to give HLV its only lead at 1-0, Tommy Papa fed Nick Carr for the equalizer at the nine minute mark of the second period. Pearson would then score twice in a two minute span, both on breakaways to give East a 3-1 lead. His second goal came short-handed and seemed to take the air out of HLV.

Early in the third period Ethan Chase would score down low on the power play and East led 4-1. HLV would get one back just over two minutes later as Matt Kilkenny would score on a backhander from the left circle and HLV had life at 4-2. Over the next four minutes however HLV had to kill two penalties and could not generate much offense. David Cutler would score with three minutes left to end any chance of a comeback. The deciding game will be Monday night in Voorhees.
