St. Joe’s scored four goals in the opening period and went on to defeat Riverfront 6-2 in Tier II action played at Hollydell. Cooper Root led the offense with two goals. Logan Rutt added a goal and three assists. Chris Corsaro gave St Joe’s a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game. We stayed that way until the nine minute mark when Root and Rutt scored goals thirteen seconds apart to put St Joe’s up 3-0. Ryan Laserre would push the lead to 4-0 late in the period as St Joe’s seemed in control after one period.

Riverfront would spend much of the second period shorthanded as they had five straight penalties called against them and failed to generate much offense. Robert capitalized on one of those power plays scoring at the four minute mark and the lead was 5-0. Riverfront would get their lone goal from Jake Horne with just under four minutes left in the period. But another power play goal from Root and the lead was 6-1. Riverfront would get a goal from Mike Everett in the final five minutes but could not muster any more offense and Riverfront is still seeking their first win.
