Cherry Hill scored five goals in the second period on its way to a 9-1 win against Riverfront in the season opener for both teams. John Gallen paced the offense with a hat trick as the Cougars looked very strong in their debut. Jacob Mutschler and Elliott Schon scored two minutes apart in the opening period to give Cherry Hill a 2-0 lead after one period. Mikey Bottalico would score a short-handed goal in the first minute of the second period for a 3-0 lead and we would stay that way until there was just under five minutes left. The Cougars would score four in the final four minutes to break open the game. 

Two goals by Gallen and one each by Matthew Stamm and Tristan Laperriere accounted for the goals and a 7-0 lead after two. Gallen completed his hat trick in the opening seconds of the third period. Nathan Strunk would score for Riverfront to make it 8-1 and Brian Cutler would close out the scoring in the final four minutes.
