Brendan Forrest scored two goals along with Jack Ellis as Cherokee snapped a 3-3 game midway through the third period and went on to defeat rival Moorestown 5-3 in late game Tier I action played at the Skate Zone. Jacob Stone was strong in goal stopping 25 shots as the Chiefs were out-shot 28-12. Forest gave the Chiefs a 1-0 lead at the five minute mark of the opening period. That lead stood until the six minute mark of period two when Samuel Byrd-Leitner would score a power play goal to tie the score at 1-1. Six minutes later Moorestown would take a 2-1 lead with Zachary McEvoy connecting on his fifth of the season. Just about two minutes later Ellis would get his first of the night on the power play and we were knotted at 2-2 heading into the third period.

The teams would trade power play goals; first Ellis would give the Chiefs a 3-2 lead scoring his seventh of the season and that lasted thirty-two seconds as Moorestown would get the tying goal from Elias Sulpizio. Forrest would score the eventual game winner midway through the period and his sixth of the season and the Chiefs led 4-3. Moorestown had a chance on the power play with just over five minutes left in the game but Jacob Bianchi would score short-handed to ice the game for the Chiefs.
