Cherokee JVA squad defeated Moorestown 5-2 in an early game at Voorhees on Monday night. The Chiefs jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Aidan Bruccoliere and Ryan Grace. Grace’s goal came on a breakaway with less than three minutes left in the opening period. Moorestown would get a power play goal from Samuel Selverian with less than four minutes left in the second period and the Quakes were back in the game. Early in the third period Nikolas Flitter would deflect a point shot by Liam Alexander to give the Chiefs a 3-1 lead.

Alexander would make it 4-1 as he converted a nice pass from Xavier Celia at the nine minute mark. Less than thirty seconds later Moorestown would get a short-handed goal from Jake Snyder to cut the lead to 4-2. In the final two minutes the Quakes would have a power play and pull the goalie for a two man advantage but Celia would score into the empty net to ice the game for the Chiefs.
