Eric Kukoda had a hat trick and Nick Shrewsbury added two goals as Avon Grove was all over Rancocas Valley 10-2 in Flyers Cup action played in Voorhees. Coming off a season where they were fourth in the league in scoring averaging over six goals per season, Rancocas Valley showed little offense managing only 16 shots for the game. Eric Bitzer and Ryan Gifford scored the goals for Rancocas Valley. The top scoring line of Walsh and Fleming were held off the scoreboard.
Avon Grove jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Shrewsbury and A.J. Cerullo, Bitzer cut the lead to 2-1 at the four minute mark, but Tom Cooney scored a power play goal with twenty-seven seconds left to give Avon Grove a 3-1 lead heading into the second period. Goals by Danny Shrilla and Kukoda in the second period gave Avon Grove a 5-1 lead heading into the third period which would begin with RV on the power play. With still a glimmer of hope to get back in the game, RV generated no shots on goal on the man advantage and Avon Grove would score five more goals to ice the game.
