Louie DeAngelo scored three goals and added two assists as Washington Township defeated Cherry Hill East 10-3 in the SJHSIHL action played at Hollydell. Eddie Sarin and Jonathan Smith chipped in with two goals each for Township. Playing against a very young Cherry Hill East team, which dresses ninety percent under-classmen, Township went into the game a heavy favorite, just coming off a big win against Cinnaminson on Monday night. Six minutes into the game DeAngelo scored his first goal right up the slot with Dylan Smith and Pat Curiale assisting.
Sarin made it 2-0 putting home a rebound on a shot by DeAngelo. Then with the period winding down Dylan Smith scored with just ten seconds left to make it 3-0. Eric Naccarelli scored his third goal of the season in the first minute of the second period and the lead was 4-0. Goals by Sarin and DeAngelo four minutes apart saw the lead grow to 6-0, before Dan Desrochers scored his second goal of the season to put East on the board at 6-1 as the second period ended.
Jonathan Smith scored the first of his two third period goals early in the period and the lead was 7-1. East came back with two goals, one by Eric Simone, short-handed, and one by Ross Asroff, to cut the lead to 7-3. Township would put the game away scoring the next three goals, one by Mike Cimorelli, Smith’s second and on the power play, DeAngelo to complete his hat trick.
