Eddie Sarin had four goals and two assists and Louie DeAngelo added two goals and four assists as Washington Township defeated Eastern 8-4 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Township jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. This was a game where Eastern could have made a statement, proving that they are one of the top teams, entering the game averaging over 7 goals a game and the top goal scorer in Billy Bascou. The Vikings never got anything going consistently on offend and Bascou was held to just one assist.
Goals by DeAngelo and two by Sarin gave Township a 3-0 lead after one, Eric Naccarelli made it 4-0 early in the second scoring shorthanded and it appeared as if Township was about to pull away. Sam Seigledorf cut the lead to 4-1 scoring on the power play. Sarin made it 5-1 on a nice feed from DeAngelo. Matt Herbert scored his tenth goal to bring the Vikings to 5-2, but Sarin scored in the final minute of the period and the lead was 6-2.
Goals by Justin Cogbill and DeAngelo had the lead to 8-2 in the third period and Eastern scored to late goals both by Alec Weinberg to make the score closer than the game.
