Cherokee led 3-1 with less than five minutes remaining, but Moorestown stormed back scoring four goals in the final four minutes to defeat Cherokee 5-3 and advance in the winner’s bracket and will meet Holy Cross on Monday night. Mike Eni had three goals for Moorestown. Herbie Hutchinson scored the only goal of the first period on the power play as Cherokee led 1-0.

The lead grew to 2-0 as Josh Westrom scored at the ten minute mark of the second period. Moorestown cut the lead to 2-1 as Eni scored his first of three on the power play with just under five minutes left in the second period. John Quinlan put Cherokee up 3-1 in the final minute of the period and we stayed that way until the four minute mark of the third period. Eni scored twice in a span of two minutes to tie the game. With momentum clearly on their side Alex Hashmi scored the game winner ten seconds after Eni had tied the score. Eric DeStefano added an empty net goal in the final seconds.

Notes: Moorestown won both meetings during the regular season against Holy Cross and are 2 wins from defending their title. Holy Cross will need a big game from goalie CJ Byrd in nets.
