ELMIRA, N.Y., -- The Trenton Devils were led by their special teams en route to a 5-1 win over the Elmira Jackals Friday night. The win was Trenton’s fifth in a row over the Jackals. The Devils struck first by capitalizing on a two-man advantage. Matt Cohen ripped a slap shot from the blue line past Michael Teslak to put the Devils on the board at 16:29 of the first. Don’t look now but the hottest team in the league, Moorestown is charging into the playoffs after handling Shawnee 5-2 at the Igloo. Ben Smith led the attack scoring twice. With the win Moorestown clinched first place in the North Division. Shawnee failed to capitalize on the power play as they were 0-6 with the man advantage and could only muster two shots on a two man advantage they had for a full two minutes early in the third period. Smith scored the only goal of the first period as he picked up a loose puck at the blue line and fired a shot that beat Alex Crespo. Smith made it 2-0 early in the second period, but Joe Crespo scored on a breakaway to cut the lead to 2-1.

Mark Lamberto scored a natural hat trick as Timber Creek held off Seneca 4-3 at the Igloo in Mt. Laurel. After a scoreless first period in which Seneca goalie Kevin Dazin was strong in nets stopping all 12 shots, Seneca broke out on top in the opening seconds of the middle period as Scott Parker intercepted a pass and broke in all alone and his shot found the net and a 1-0 lead. Lamberto would tie the game one minute later thanks to some hard work by Tom Szabo, who kept the puck in and found Lamberto in front. Moments later that combination worked again as Lamberto shot the puck from his knees as he was tripped up, but he found the net and a 2-1 lead.
