I understand why Holy Cross was not entered into the Flyers Cup, but why isn't Moorestown? They are, afterall, the SJHSIHL Champions.

And what a game last night. Besides a few questionable officiating calls you can't really ask for more in a championship game, eh?

Moorestown plays by our league rules. Mike Eni attends Moorestown Friends and so do two JV players. All three are Moorestown residents and have been with the club since 5th grade. The higher than thou people across the river have ruled Moorestown ineligable. Last year they played without Eni & Ben Smith. This year they were marked not to be allowed to play. Its a shame really since they only have 4 loss's in 2 years. Breakaway wont even rank Moorestown becasue of it.

Oh well they won thier league and took care of buisness. Besides the garbage reffing last night you could not have wittnessed a better championship game. The crowd was full of energy. Afterward both teams handled themselves with grace during the trophy presentation.

Congrats to Moorestown on back to back titles. Job well done.

Moorestown senior forward does not attend Moorestown High School with his team-mates, he attends Moorestown Friends. And according to the Flyers Cup eligibility requirements, all rostered players must attend the nominated school. Its unfortunate because I think if eligible they would have been a #4 seed and would have made some noise in the tournament. As for the game, Holy Cross gave them everything they had and should be applauded for their effort. While there may have been a few calls you did not agree with, the officials did not influence the outcome of the game.

It was a good game, with a good pace to it. The officials had a tough time keeping up and getting out of the way. They should be officiating in the championship game based upon merit, not availability. They made several questionable calls that led directly to goals.

Congratulations to a very talented and spirited Holy Cross squad. It was a excellent example of the quality of high school hockey in South Jersey. Coach Holland did a wonderful job down the stretch matching shift for shift, period for period and game by game in the later part of the season. As did Coach Sullivan at Cherokee.

Moorestown’s non participation in Flyers Cup ( Eastern PA HS Championship ) is due as Mike claims to the one varsity player that attends the alternate High School in Moorestown. Another major factor is that HS Lacrosse is huge in Moorestown and many of our players participate at the varsity level and are ineligible for club sports as of March 5th.

Last year we were very close to not participating but decided it was a great opportunity to play freshman and JV Players to get them a better understanding of the speed at the Varsity level and it paid off.

A very big congratulations to the Moorestown Seniors for repeating as champions. The hardest thing to do in sports is to win when you are expected to win and to repeat is even greater. Nice job boys.

Food for thought would be a split Tier I Division next year. Putting the big schools together and creating a full season of games like last night and giving the smaller schools a chance to participate at a competitive level.

We agree on one point, it was a good game, and while I've never attended a game that I thought was perfectly officiated, I thought the refs did keep up. A wise man once told me that if you think you can do better, go ahead..
