School Support Poll Question

With the recent poll question about which schools announce to the student population about upcoming high school ice hockey games, we were wondering what are those schools that do?

Re: School Support Poll Question

Well I can tell you Shawnee does not announce games nor do they let the team handout any leaflets to announce a game/time/location.  The boys are not allowed to put up posters in the school either.  The school treats them like they don't exist and both the Varsity and JV squads had a lot to be proud of last year in their accomplishments.

Speaking in general terms for all high school hockey players, although the sport is not sanctioned, the schools should acknowledge their team's efforts, support the students and not make them feel like outsiders.  Schools are very quick to reprimand a student if they are disruptive or behaving badly.  How about acknowledging them when they do something good, are involved in an activity and are proudly representing their school?  A little positive reinforcement from school administrators would go a long way for students.  School spirit is a good thing.

Re: School Support Poll Question

Delran's school announces their games and allows them to pass out flyers with approval.  Other than that they don't get any other support.
