couple of questions i want to be brought up
if people dont know yet im here to inform you that the varsity league is different this year. all varsity teams from last season tier 1 and tier 2 will be in the same tier the change is that there are two divisions a north and south with both divisions being divided up based on locations with a mix of tier 1 and tier 2 teams..teams in the same division will play each other twice and teams from opposite divisions play each other once for a total number of games between 20-25 games
the questions i have aboout this are
1. why the merger? there are going to be so many mercies and so many games that get out of control because of the score
2. what is the benefit to having it this way instead of keeping it the same?
3. what do u the parents and players feel about it?
4. how will the playoffs work?
and the final question not on that topic
but who is the favorite to be the top team no matter the divisions
my opinion is washington township
they got a very strong offensive core with a combination of older players such as matt fleekop and john paulo leading the way on forward with young players and the defense looks very good with john rey holding the top role as a junior who played very well as a sophomore last year and some good incoming freshmen and sophomores with help from john he should lead the defense to become a solid group the only question is the goaltending situation its still up in the air with that.
however i here shawnee hasnt lost all its dominant players and should be tough along with cherokee whoo didnt lose anyone but got stronger as garvey and kopervas have become older and the same for morrestown and ben smith
with that being said township still looks like the team too beat
please give your input on either of the subjects
