No question about it, shawnee is a good team but after that first line of Macdonald without question the best forward in the league with Welsey and Pezzato as line mates then who do they have? NOBODY! If any team can control that first line which is a big task they should win the game because after that first line of forwards they dont got anything. Their goalie and defense is weak n the 3rd line of forwards are 2nd line jv players at best rounding out the team.
Moorestown is not what everyone thinks they are. They only beat a tier 2 Cherry Hill team 5-2 as Holy Cross an extremely weak tier 1 beat Cherry Hill 5-1 with no problems like Moorestown had. Then they got smoked by Cherokee, and Cherokee is not supposed to be in the same league as Shawnee. However this is what happened to Moorestown last year they started out extremely slow but got hot at the right time. But they have been ruled out for crown contension now.
Cherokee is very impressive. They are basically the same team as last year so they are going to be good. However its the same deal as Shawnee. They have an extremely good first line with garvey and kopervas and a better than average 2nd line but after that they are a beatable team. But still a top contender with Shawnee.
The other team i feel has a good contension is Washington Township. They are in the much weaker South Division and should roll over teams. They started well mercying Timber Creek and their 2nd game is played tomorow vs. rancocas valley. Township is very deep and strong offensively deeper than any other team and at the same strenght level as any others. There defense is average with Rey and the new St. Augustine kid Lyons holding up the rear. Their goalie is still questionable but time will tell for him. Township is up there with any team in the league and should challenge for the title.
