Yes, we spoke about this happening a few weeks ago. What do you think of the move?? Will Township be a better club with a different voice?

While I had my disagreements with Coach Macchione, you cannot argue with his record and they did win a title with him at the helm. As someone who watches the games from the penalty box, he is(was) one of the few coaches that was in control of his bench. Last season they had 1 loss during the regular season and the Coach had the courage to suspend his second leading scorer for the season for his conduct, was that wrong? Losing Smith in the playoffs and Sarin suffering a back injury, was that coaching? Objectively speaking some people would say Township had a good year.

its not that difficult to win in this league...every year there are only a handful of good teams and to be one of those teams every year does not make him a good coach. the development of the players come from outside of the club( travel players coaches) i think wt should have been deep enough to endure injuries to there top players, if he would have developed some of his younger players during the regular season(which means nothing because everyone makes the playoffs last i checked) he would have had a better chase in the playoffs...which his record is below 500 . also i think he was unable to make in-game changes because he had only one system( one forecheck and one power play) if they didnt work we were in trouble. Jim is a very nice guy his just an average hockey coach.

Some good points, I won't argue about whether the Coach was average, or could not adjust in-game, we will agree to disagree. One thing, for me anyway, is that when the kids reach the Varsity level of hockey, the talented ones usually separate themselves from the average players. As they say, talent is in the eye of the beholder. Players decide games, not coaches, its up to the Coach to put them in position, but players still have to make plays. If you look back to last season, Moorestown had 3-4 guys that were play-makers. More than any other team. My hope is that there are more competitive games this year.
