Brad Brodzik scored two goals as Black Horse defeated Mainland 7-1 and remain undefeated on the season at 11-0. Christian Corsaro opened the scoring early in the first period scoring a short-handed goal for a 1-0 lead. Brodzik would make it 2-0 with just seven seconds left in the period and would get his second of the night in the second and the lead was 3-0. Mainland’s best opportunity came on a breakaway by Brendan Blight, but Michael Neal stoned him to keep Mainland off the board. In giving up just one goal Neal’s GAA dropped to 1.50 on the season.

Dan Taylor scored two goals as Riverfront defeated Williamstown 3-2 in SJHSHL action played at Hollydell. Williamstown can look back on their failure on the power play tonight as they went 0-6, which included a two-man advantage for a full two minutes late in the second period and they failed to capitalize. Jake Elliott would put the Braves up 1-0 scoring his first varsity goal of the season midway through the first period. In the opening minute of the second period Taylor would tie the game on a breakaway for Riverfront. Patrick Willever would get his first of the season at the nine minute mark and Riverfront led 2-1.

Kingsway Ice Hockey has rebuilt their program over the last few years, coming so close to the championship, losing in overtime last year in the title game and they have continued their winning tradition by holding its 5th annual Food Drive on Saturday, November 19th. Thanks to the hard work and tireless efforts of everyone on the Kingsway Hockey organization, they collected over 600 pounds of food and a few hundred dollars as well. That amount of food will produce over 2000 meals over the holidays, and was donated to the South Jersey Food Bank.

Sean McKenna snapped a 3-3 game with just over two minutes left in the third period and Kyle Hill added one in the final ninety seconds as Cherry Hill East defeated Eastern 5-3 in action played in Voorhees. East capitalized on the man advantage scoring twice on the power play, with Jack Amon getting his third of the season five minutes into the game. John Pearson would make it 2-0 three minutes later as once again East capitalized on the man advantage. Maxim Kuznetsov would cut the lead to 2-1 just over two minutes later, but a late goal by David Cutler had the lead back to two at 3-1.

Kyle Rink stopped all 21 shots as Washington Township defeated HLV 4-0 to snap a four game winless streak. Joe Ricchezza gave Township a 1-0 lead late in the first period with Jarret Strickon getting the assist. Late in the second period Township would get goals from Donovan Haslett and Joe Crincoli two minutes apart and the lead was 3-0. Crincoli’s goal was on the power play, coming right before the penalty expired. Andrew McGinley would score early in the third period to make it 4-0.

Zachary Faust scored five goals as Black Horse defeated Williamstown 6-1 to remain undefeated on the season at 10-0. Justin Fortuna gave Williamstown a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, but two goals by Faust in a twenty six second span gave Black Horse the lead for good at 2-1 after one period. Black Horse would make it 3-1 at the seven minute mark of the second period, Faust getting his third and it was just 3-1 after two periods. Faust however would break the game open early in the third, scoring two goals again on the same shift, this time nine seconds apart and suddenly it was 5-1.

Ross Higgins stopped 23 shots and Cole Dyar scored a short-handed goal in the third period to help Clearview tie Shawnee at 2-2. Shawnee carried much of the play tonight and Clearview did not have the offensive pressure they normally have averaging 40 shots per game coming in, but tonight only generating 22 shots, a season low. Higgins however was the difference tonight, especially late in the third period. Shawnee took a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game as Cody Charyk connected for his sixth of the season.

Cole Dyar scored twice to pace Clearview to a 4-1 win over Moorestown as Clearview improved to 7-0 on the season. Moorestown took a 1-0 lead four minutes into the game as William Eigenrauch scored his first of the season. Clearview would break through to tie the game late in the second period with Anthony Manzo connecting for his seventh of the season. Early in the third period Dyar would give the View a 2-1 lead, again on the power play as he ripped a shot into the net on a feed from Colin Hughes.

Jake Starr-Costello snapped a 1-1 game, scoring his first varsity goal of the season in the late stages of the second period as Cherry Hill East defeated Washington Township 2-1 in SJHSHL action played at Hollydell on Friday night. The win evens the record for East at 4-4 on the year. Kyle Rink in nets for Township played a strong game in stopping 28 shots, but the team continues to struggle offensively, and Coach Glick has juggled the lines in an effort to find a combination that will work.

On Wednesday night, two SJHSHL teams that don’t ordinarily play each other in the regular season, Clearview and Black Horse Regional, who are both enjoying an undefeated season, came together to compete on the ice in support of a Clearview family who is facing a battle with ALS. Both teams played vigorously with a high intensity throughout that was understandably fueled by the emotion of the evening, Clearview won this exhibition 7-0. Nick Ramos had a hat trick, but the game wasn’t about records or winning, these young athletes came together in solidarity to show community support for one their own, a hockey family member.
