TRENTON, N.J. -- Two-point nights by Jim Henkel and Matt Cohen led the way for the Trenton Devils in their third straight win, a 3-1 decision over the Reading Royals Friday night. Henkel put the Devils on the board 4:35 into the contest with a power play tally. Cohen passed the puck to Henkel who was skating into the crease and easily tapped in the puck past Danny Taylor to give the Devils a 1-0 lead.

Heading into their toughest test of the season Washington Township responded with a resounding 8-3 win over Shawnee at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With the talk being about the stronger North Division for most of the season, Township showed they are a team to be talked about when discussions involve the playoffs and in particular the finals. As they have had for most of the season, balanced scoring was once again evident as Louie DeAngelo and Dylan Smith scored two goals each and four other players scored goals for the first place Minutemen.

Mike Walsh netted a hat trick as Rancocas Valley defeated the Williamstown Braves 7-1 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With the victory RV moved ahead of Moorestown and into sole possession of second place in the North Division. Ryan Gifford scored two goals in the first period as RV took control from the beginning. After Dominic Carusone cut the deficit to 2-1 for Williamstown early in the second period, RV scored three goals in a span of six minutes to break open the game.

Kyle Kopervas and Jake Ahle each netted a hat trick as Cherokee defeated Eastern 11-5 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. Sam Seigeldorf and Justin Sperling led Eastern with two goals each. The lead was just one goal going into the third period as Cherokee led just 4-3. Pat Casey made it 5-3 scoring in the opening ninety seconds. Sperling got that one back seconds later and it was just 5-4. Pat Mohnacs and Adam Hidalgo scored goals thirty five seconds apart to give Cherokee some breathing room at 7-4.

TRENTON, N.J. -- The Trenton Devils swept the weekend with a 2-1 win at home over the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday and a 3-2 win on the road against the Elmira Jackals Sunday afternoon. The Devils have three games coming up this week with a pair of home games against the Reading Royals and a road contest to lead into the Christmas break against the Wheeling Nailers.

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Trenton Devils were perfect on the penalty kill and got a late tally on the power play to take their first win against the Elmira Jackals this season, a 3-2 decision Sunday afternoon. The Jackals opened the scoring late in the first period on a two-on-one as Josh Aspenlind buried a one-timer pass from Chris Korchinski with 37 seconds left in the period.

A three goal second period stood up as Cherry Hill East hung on to defeat Williamstown 3-2 in action played at Hollydell. After a scoreless first period that saw Williamstown spend the first half killing four straight penalties, Cherry Hill East freshman forward had his first two point night of the season as he set-up the first two goals, one by Evan Asroff and the other by Brian Plungis. Eight seconds after Plungis scored, Dan Desrochers scored his second goal of the year and East led 3-0, as Williamstown could only manage six shots in the period.
