Three Trenton Devils had two-point nights as the Devils scored four third period goals to defeat the Johnstown Chiefs 5-2 Thursday night at Sovereign Bank Arena. The winning goal came at the 5:58 mark on the power play as Tyler Burton slammed home a rebound in front of the net for his second goal of the season, giving Trenton a 3-2 lead. The Devils then received insurance goals from Scott Bartlett and Eric Castonguay, which ensured the Devils their first win at Sovereign Bank Arena this season. Prior to scoring three straight goals to close out the contest, the Devils had twice taken leads only to have the Chiefs quickly tie it up.

Mike Walsh scored six goals and Sean Fleming added three goals and five assists as Rancocas Valley doubled up Timber Creek 10-5 in action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Walsh scored twice in the opening period to give RV a 2-1 lead after one period. Mike Schwer, who led Timber Creek with two goals, scored a power play goal late in the first period to put Timber Creek on the board. After Walsh scored a short-handed goal in the opening minute of the second period, Schwer got that one back one minute later to bring Timber Creek to within 3-2. Midway through the period RV would score three goals in a span of four minutes to break open the game at 6-2.

TRENTON, NJ -- The Trenton Devils split a pair of games on the road against the Wheeling Nailers. The Devils won Saturday night in the shootout 5-4 before losing the following afternoon by the score of 5-3. Trenton will play three games this week against Johnstown, at Elmira and back at home against Idaho.

WHEELING, WV – A barrage of 56 shots on Curtis Darling did not help matters for the Trenton Devils as they lost to the Wheeling Nailers 5-3 on Sunday afternoon. The Nailers were recipients of a Tommy Goebel hat trick and Darling’s 53 saves to help them defeat the Devils and give themselves their fourth win in five games. Goebel scored twice for the Nailers to give them a 2-0 lead before Chris Tutalo’s first professional goal put Trenton on the board at the 6:08 mark of the second period.

Dante Fleagle and Matt Fleekop each had a hat trick as Washington Township rolled over West Deptford 11-1 at Hollydell. Leading just 1-0 heading into the second period on a goal by Fleekop, the game seem to turn when West Deptford’s’ Matt Asselta was awarded a penalty shot early in the period. With a chance to tie the game, Asselta skated in and tried to fake out goalie Mike Stoever, but Stoever held his ground and Asselta had nothing to shoot at that stop sparked Township. On the very next play Township scored as Fleagle got his first and suddenly it was 2-0. Fifteen seconds later Fleagle made it 3-0 picking up a loose puck in the slot.

Mike Schwer scored three goals including the game winner midway through the final period as Timber Creek edged Cinnaminson 6-5 in SJHSIHL action played in Voorhees on Monday night. Kevin Rafferty scored the only goal of the first period to give Cinnaminson a 1-0 lead after one. But Timber Creek responded with a five goal second period, scoring two power play goals and a short-handed goal. After Tom Szabo tied the game fourteen seconds in, Mark Lamberto and Szabo scored power play goals twenty-six seconds apart to give Timber Creek a 3-1 lead.

Billy Bascou scored six goals as the Eastern Vikings roared back from a 6-2 deficit to defeat West Deptford 14-9 in a goal fest at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. In a losing effort Luke DeHart also scored six goals utilizing his speed to create numerous opportunities for West Deptford. Matt Asselta chipped in with two goals and Shawn Widner added the other goal for West Deptford. Josh Weinberg, Justin Sperling, Brian Schemmel and Darren Plotkin also found the net for Eastern. With the win the Vikings evened their record at 3-3. Next up is a date with Seneca at the Igloo, while West Deptford will battle Washington Township.
