Cherokee played an almost perfect game defensively in skating to a 1-1 draw with Washington Township on Monday night at Voorhees. Coming into the game Township was averaging eight goals a game and their first line had combined for 196 points. It was obvious that Cherokee was determined to not let that line get going, and there scheme worked. Township had the best opportunity of the period to score as they had a two man advantage for a full two minutes late in the period that carried over into the second, but they failed to capitalize.

Bob Campbell had three goals and Eric Mitchell and Alex Stewart added two goals each as Clearview recorded their first win of the season beating Delran 8-6 ah Hollydell. Delran, led by Jesse Gimbel with a hat trick is still winless as well, jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Clearview bounced back. Having watched a fair amount of Clearview games, despite being winless, the effort has been there and we haven’t sensed any disruption, although I’m sure there was frustration. The last regular season win was January 2009 against Township.
