Robert Penrod’s second goal of the night with less than four minutes left in the game snapped a 4-4 tie and gave Clearview a 5-4 win over Mainland. The View jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Penrod and Joshua Tabar, as Mainland seemed a bit sluggish to start the game. The second period began with Clearview on the power play and a chance to build on their lead, but it was Mainland that responded scoring two short-handed goals. First Gage Grist intercepted a pass and scored on a break to make it 2-1 then just over one minute later, Brendan Blight would tie the game at 2-2 and suddenly Mainland had a jump in their step.

Michael Barbella scored two goals and Kyle Ringhesier added a goal and three assists as Black Horse rolled past Clearview 6- in Tier 1 action played at Hollydell. Barbella gave Black Horse a 1-0 lead scoring a power play goal at the eight minute mark of the opening period. Less than three minutes later Jake Sholders was awarded a penalty shot for Clearview and he scored the only goal of the night for the View to tie the game at 1-1. Just about one minute later Black Horse took the lead for good as Connor LaSerre would score his first goal of the season to make it 2-1.

Nate Smith had a hat trick and the View launched a team record 60 shots on goal as they defeated the Pirates of Cinnaminson 6-2 in JVA action played in Voorhees. The win kept the View unbeaten in JVA action at 7-0-3. Smith opened the scoring in the first three minutes of the game with Shane Wicker getting the assist. Christopher Cloke would tie the game at 1-1 with a goal at the five minute mark. Wicker and Smith would give the View the lead for good in the final minute of the period, this time Wicker scored the goal and Smith assisted.

Eric Lauk scored twice and Clearview rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Shawnee 7-3 in Tier I action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The win was the second in a row for the View, welcoming back Anthony Dellerose and Eric and Ryan Lauk to the lineup. Shawnee jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game on goals by Todd Minshall and a power play goal by Matt Schemelia. Lauk and Nate Smith would tie the game scoring goals two minutes apart. Lauk scored his second of the night early in the second period as the View capitalized on the power play and led 3-2 after two periods.

Nate Smith scored three goals, for the second time in the last three games, as Clearview defeated Washington Township 5-4 in JVA action played in Voorhees on Sunday evening. Smith scored 3 goals against Township the last time the two teams met on November 29th. Jake Sholders gave Clearview a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game. Smith added his first of the night at the twelve minute mark and the View led 2-0 after one period. Smith connected for his second goal of the night just twenty nine seconds into the second period and the lead was 3-0. Township would respond scoring two goals in a span of two minutes. First Joe Urban scored at the one minute mark to make it 3-1. Then on the power play, Frank Borgesi would get the first of two on the night to cut the lead to 3-2.

To say Clearview has struggled in their first ten games would be an understatement, having won just one game and overall standing at 1-6-3. Well on Friday night they played Cherokee and saw the return of the Lauk brothers, Eric and Ryan along with the return of team captain Anthony Dellerose from an arm injury. Eric Lauk would score a hat trick and Dellerose would assist on all three goals, Ryan would assist on one goal and play a strong game on defense in front of goalie Ross Higgins. Their opponent was Cherokee with Matt Bidini in nets sporting a 5-0-0 record and giving up just one goal per game. The game was scoreless until the final minute of the period when Andrew Sphuler threaded a long pass to Anthony Manzo and he broke in and beat Bidini for a 1-0 lead.

Michael O’Brien scored twice and Stephen San Martin stopped 28 shots as Cinnaminson defeated Clearview 5-2 in SJHSHL game action in Voorhees. Nicholas Ramos scored both Clearview goals. Cinnaminson would score the only goal in the first period as Dawson Nehring would connect on his fifth of the season early in the period. Ramos would tie the score at 1-1 scoring an unassisted goal in the opening minute of the second period, after San Martin had stopped him on a breakaway; he put home his own rebound.

St Joe’s and Clearview traded power play goals in the first period and neither team would score again as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Alex Eberly scored in the opening five minutes of the game with Trevor Rucci getting the assist as Clearview was down a man. Exactly five minutes later, with St Joe’s down a man, Joe Freda connected for his first of the season to tie the game at 1-1. St Joe’s had two power play opportunities in the second period, both coming late, but failed to capitalize on the man advantage.

Five different players scored for the Quakes as they defeated Clearview 5-3 in late action on Friday at Hollydell. With the win Moorestown improved to 3-0-1 on the season. Robert Penrod put Clearview up 1-0 at the eight minute mark, but Moorestown would respond right after the center ice face-off with David Shore connecting on his second goal of the season. Just under three minutes later Brian Santosuosso would score a power play goal to give Moorestown a 2-1 lead after one.

Anthony Dellerose scored a power play goal with less than two minutes left in the game as Clearview and Black Horse skated to a 3-3 draw in action in Voorhees. Neither team would score in the opening period and Clearview would break through first as Nick Ramos scored on the power play less than five minutes into the second period. Two minutes later Anthony Manzo made it 2-0 with Robert Penrod assisting. Black Horse would storm back late in the period, first Zach Kelly would get his second of the season with just over three minutes left and less than one minute later Jake McDonald would get the equalizer and we were all tied at 2-2 after two.
