The nominees for the 2018-2019 Junior-Senior Showcase game have been released. The game will be played on Sunday, January 27th at the Voorhees Skate Zone at 7:00. Tickets are $5. On Thursday, January 24th we will conduct a live draft on SJIceHockey.com beginning at 7:00. The coaches will be Scott McKay from Cherokee and Mike Glick from Washington Township. Conor Riley had a goal and three assists and Max Kuznetsov added two goals and three assists as Eastern defeated Egg Harbor Township 9-1 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The Vikings broke open the game with a five goal third period. Leading 3-0 after the first period on goals by Ron Fireman, Luke Rile and Jacob Findley, the Vikings would get just one in the second period as Conor scored his team high 16th goal of the year and a 4-0 lead after two periods.

Ryan O’Connell and Elias Sulpizio each scored twice as Moorestown defeated Egg Harbor Township 9-2. The Quakes used a four goal second period to blow open the game. O’Connell and Luke Dobbs scored goals two minutes apart late in the opening period as Moorestown led 2-0 after one. The Quakes would score three times in a span of four minutes with Zach Marzo and Anthony De Francisco getting the goals and Mike O’Connell would score short-handed and the lead was 5-0.

Cameron Carmen stopped all 20 shots as Egg Harbor Township defeated Williamstown 5-0 in a SJHSHL game played at Hollydell. Five different players scored for the Eagles as they outshot Williamstown 42-20. Three minutes into the game William Bahnak gave Carmen the only goal he would need scoring his third goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. Six minutes later Ryan Robertson would make it 2-0 for EHT. Over the next six minutes EHT would take 3 penalties, but Carmen did not allow a goal and despite being outshot 10-9 the Eagles led 3-0 after one period.

Jake Kelley and Mike Andes each had a natural hat trick as Cherokee defeated Egg Harbor Township 7-0 last night in Voorhees. Jeremy Ambrose had a goal and five assists for the Chiefs. Kelley scored the first three goals of the game, all coming in the first three minutes as Cherokee took control early jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Ambrose assisted on two of the goals before scoring his goal late in the period as the Chiefs took a 4-0 lead into the second period. Andes would score the only two goals of the period, both coming in the first two minutes of the period and forty three seconds apart to push the lead to 6-0.

Jacob Feliciano had a hat trick as Egg Harbor Twp defeated Kingsway 7-6 in the season opener for both clubs played at Hollydell. Jason Player scored four goals to lead the Kingsway attack. Kingsway led 1-0 as Robert Licciardello scored at the eight minute mark of the first period but two goals by EHT in a fifteen second span, one by Feliciano and a goal by Ryan Robertson gave EHT a 2-1 lead after one. Player would tie the score at 2-2 early in the second period and the teams would trade goals over the next few minutes with Dylan Faulhaber giving EHT a 3-2 lead only to see Player tie the game at 3-3. Feliciano and Player would exchange goals three minutes apart late in the period and EHT would get a short-handed goal from Faulhaber, his second of the night and EHT took a 5-4 lead into the third period.
