Sean Conard scored four goals as Riverfront had little trouble in defeating Kingsway 11-0 last night at Voorhees. Moving to 11-1 on the season Riverfront should have moved into the National division this season averaging almost nine goals per game while surrendering less than 3 per game. Riverfront scored four goals in the opening period with Jake Lukis, Rocky DeMas and two from Conard accounting for the goals. They blew the game open with seven goals in the second period, with six coming in the first seven minutes.

Riverfront used a five goal second period to pull away from Middle Township 10-1 and increased its lead over St Joe’s to four points in the Olympic division. Isaac Viereck and Dylan Farnan each scored two goals to pace Riverfront and six different players’ added goals as Riverfront continues to get balanced scoring, as they have 6 players with eight or more goals on the season. Offensively they are averaging over 8 goals per game and surrendering less than 3 per game. Alex Mayernick started the scoring at the three minute mark of the first period scoring unassisted. Viereck would add the next two for a 3-0 lead after one period.

As we begin 2015 and head towards the playoffs let’s take a look at the division leaders and where they should finish: American Division: Washington Township has a 3 point lead with two games in hand and has winnable games against Shawnee, EEW and HLV. They would seem to be in the driver’s seat for the top seed in the division. Cherokee is still the 4 time champ and needs to get there offense going if they want a 5th title. Clearview has proved they can play with anybody and could surprise here depending on the goaltending. Moorestown has struggled within the division going 1-6-1.

Five different players scored goals as Riverfront defeated Williamstown 5-1 in the last game of 2014 for both teams. Riverfront improved to 10-1 on the season. Riverfront scored four power play goals on the night and that spelled the difference. Right off the opening face-off Isaac Viereck scored just eleven seconds into the game for a 1-0 advantage. Sean Conrad would score on the power play late in the period for a 2-0 lead after one. Rocky Demas scored the lone goal of the second period, again on the power play and Riverfront led 3-0 after two.

Paul Petrongolo had two goals and two assists to lead St Joe’s to a 7-2 win over Riverfront in a battle of the top two teams in the Olympic division. The loss snapped a six game winning streak for Riverfront and St Joe’s improved to 8-1 on the season. The score was tied at 1-1 after the first period with Isaac Viereck giving Riverfront the lead at 1-0 only to have Nick Corwonski tie the game on the power play. Petrongolo and Tristen Ridarelli scored goals sixteen seconds apart to give St Joe’s the lead for good at 3-1 with five minutes left in the second period.

Riverfront continued its torrid goal scoring pace as they notched an 11-1 win over Clearview III. Riverfront improved to 6-0-0 on the season and is averaging over eight goals per game. Isaac Viereck and Jake Lukis had two goals and two assists each to pace Riverfront, Robbie Bell added two goals. We were scoreless for the first seven minutes until Viereck scored his tenth goal of the season, Clearview however came right back less than one minute later as Ryan Kaisinger scored his first goal of the season.

Four different players scored two goals each as Riverfront had little trouble with Cinnaminson 9-3 and remained undefeated in the Olympic Division at 5-0. Rocky Demas, Sean Conrad, Reggie Hunter and Isaac Viereck each tallied twice and Jake Lukis added the other goal to go along with three assists. Riverfront trailed 2-1 after two power play goals were scored as the Pirates took advantage of a two-man advantage and scored on both ends, with Mike Obrien and Matty Mclane getting the goals to put Cinnaminson up 2-1 early in the first after Dumas had opened the scoring in the opening minute.

After spotting Egg Harbor Township a 2-0 lead, Riverfront would outscore them 10-1 over the final two periods to win going away 10-3 and remain undefeated in the Olympic Conference. Four different players had two goals each for Riverfront. EHT scored the only two goals of the first period with Christian Raymond scoring a power play goal at the six minute mark. Later in the period EHT made it 2-0 as defenseman Kyle Yaffee scored his first goal of the season. Riverfront got going early in the second period as Reggie Hunter scored just twenty four seconds in, his first of two on the night.
