Anthony Carite scored three straight goals in a span of two minutes in the second period to help St Joe’s defeat Middle Township 6-3 in Tier II action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. The two teams would trade goals in the first period with Middle Township taking a 1-0 lead at the three minute mark on a goal by Paul Stryker. Twenty six seconds later Chris Corsaro would tie the game for St Joe’s at 1-1. Less than one minute later St Joe’s would take a 2-1 lead on a nice shot from Robert Diehm as his blast went right under the crossbar. Nico Corsaro would tie the game at 2-2 for Middle thirty three seconds later.

David Cutler and Johnny Pearson each scored two goals as Cherry Hill East defeated St. Joe’s 6-0 in Tier II action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Jack Amon got things going for Cherry Hill scoring his seventh goal of the season midway through the first period to give Cherry Hill a 1-0 advantage. Pearson would follow less than two minutes later as East took a 2-0 lead into the second period. Cutler would score both of his goals in the second period to increase the lead to 4-0.

Michael Neal stopped 38 shots as St Joe’s defeated Clearview 2-1 in a penalty filled contest played at Hollydell. The teams combined for 29 penalties and both sides spent much of the game killing the penalties. Chris Corsaro scored the only goal of the first period as St Joe’s led 1-0. Kevin Glass blasted one from the point early in the second period to give St Joe’s a 2-0 lead.

Michael Neal stopped 21 shots and St Joe’s scored two second period goals in defeating Clearview 2-1 in Tier II action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. After a scoreless first period, Evan Biesiada put St Joe’s up 1-0 scoring on the power play at the five minute mark. Four minutes later the lead was 2-0 as Collin Oncay would get his second of the season and with Neal making several big stops as Clearview would have 3 power play opportunities, but failed to capitalize, St Joe’s took a 2-0 lead into the third period.

Kevin Glass scored three goals as St Joe’s rolled over Cinnaminson 10-2 in Tier II action played at Hollydell. Glass connected on the power play and short-handed in the first period as St Joe’s led 2-0 after one. St Joe’s would score 5 times in the second period to take control of the game. Nick Jervas would score two goals 26 seconds apart to increase the lead to 4-0 just three minutes into the second period. Goals by Robert Diehm and Glass’s third of the night just eighteen second apart had the lead to 6-0.

St Joe’s rallied twice from a three goal deficit with three goals in the third period to tie Riverfront at 4-4. Kevin Glass connected on the power play in the game’s final minute to help St Joe’s steal a point. Riverfront built a 3-0 lead on goals by Ryan McCormick, Patrick Willever and Austin Wilk. St Joe’s would cut the lead to 3-1 late in the second period with Evan Biesaida getting credit for his second goal of the season. Colin Sabatino would restore the three goal lead early in the third period as Riverfront would score on the power play and lead 4-1.

Logan Rutt had four goals and Anthony Carite added three as St Joe’s had little trouble with Cinnaminson in a 10-1 victory. Nicholas Jervas gave St Joe’s a 1-0 lead three minutes into the game scoring on the power play. Cinnaminson would score their only goal of the game at the five minute mark as Jake Bennett would tie the game at 1-1 scoring unassisted. St Joe’s would go on to score four goals over the next five minutes to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Kevin Glass and Carite would score goals nineteen seconds apart and Rutt and John Pleis would score one minute apart and St Joe’s took a 5-1 lead into the second period.

Michael Neal, formerly of Black Horse, stopped all 21 shots and Anthony Carite scored two goals as St Joe’s defeated Middle Township 4-0 in the season opener for both clubs. With the folding of Black Horse, Neal has found a new home with St Joe’s and he could not have asked for a better debut. Middle Township had three power play opportunities and Neal was solid in nets. Carite opened the scoring at the five minute mark with Nick Jervas getting the first of his two assists. Less than two minutes later Linden Trovillo would make it 2-0 with Joe Bryant and Chris Corsaro getting the helpers.
