Mike Schwer scored three goals including the game winner midway through the final period as Timber Creek edged Cinnaminson 6-5 in SJHSIHL action played in Voorhees on Monday night. Kevin Rafferty scored the only goal of the first period to give Cinnaminson a 1-0 lead after one. But Timber Creek responded with a five goal second period, scoring two power play goals and a short-handed goal. After Tom Szabo tied the game fourteen seconds in, Mark Lamberto and Szabo scored power play goals twenty-six seconds apart to give Timber Creek a 3-1 lead.
Taylor Arcaini got Cinnaminson to within 3-2 at the five minute mark connecting on the power play. But two goals by Schwer just over a minute apart gave Timber Creek a 5-2 lead heading into the final period. Eric McDowell and a second goal by Rafferty got Cinnaminson to 5-4, four minutes into the third period. Despite only generating 4 shots in the period, Schwer scored at the eight minute mark to give Timber Creek some breathing room at 6-4. Garrett McLaverty made it 6-5 with just over six minutes left, but Bill Schindler kept Cinnaminson at bay to preserve the win.
