Eric McDowell scored four times and Sean Joyce added two goals as Cinnaminson defeated Eastern 10-4 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Leading 1-0 midway through the first, Eastern would tie the game at the five minute mark, but then would surrender six unanswered goals to fall behind at 7-1. Brendan Rematta started the onslaught scoring on the power play for a 2-1 lead after one period. Then two goals by McDowell and one by Justin Nugent had the lead to 5-1. Garrett McLaverty scored on a back-hander from the slot to make it 6-1 and McDowell’s fourth goal with less than four minutes left in the second period had Cinnaminson in control at 6-1.
Goals by Darren Plotkin and Josh Weinberg gave the Vikings some life at 7-3, but Joyce scored a short-handed goal to put Cinnaminson ahead at 8-3. On the back end of the same power play, Justin Sperling got that one back for Eastern to cut the lead to 8-4. But late goals by Joe Carfagno and Joyce closed out the game at 10-4. Cinnaminson evened its record at 4-4 with the win. Eastern also is 4-4 following the loss.
