Township had their offense clicking in the opening period as they launched 15 shots at East goalie Mike Tice. With Basalma in the penalty box, East had a chance to tie the game at the nine minute mark, but Justin Cogbill would score short-handed to give Township a 2-0 lead.
The second period was all Townships as they had a season high 23 shots and four would find the net. Jonathan Smith would make it 3-0 at the five minute mark and Basalma would add the next two, one short-handed and one on a feed from Smith and the lead was 5-0. Cogbill would make it 6-0 late in the period with freshman Shane Moffatt getting the assist and his first varsity point.
