Jonathan Smith had two game tying goals, the last on coming on the power play in the final two minutes of regulation as Washington Township rallied to tie Moorestown 4-4 in a SJHSIHL game played at the Igloo. Moorestown jumped out to a 2-0 lead just seven minutes into the game as William Sulpizio and Michael Katz got Moorestown off quickly. Eddie Sarin got Township going as he scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
Smith would get his first goal to tie the game right before the end of the period at 2-2, actually with one second left with Frankie Hughes and Eric Naccarelli getting the assists. Moorestown would score the lone goal in the second period as Matt Olbrich gave Moorestown a 3-2 lead heading into the final period. Township would tie the game in the third period, with Olbrich in the penalty box; Ben Basalma would score on the power play, with Steve Sailor and Garrett Quinn getting the assists.
Moorestown re-took the lead with less than five minutes remaining with Brian Glodowski notching his third goal of the season and Moorestown led 4-3. Once again capitalizing on the power play Township tied the score as Smith scored his eighth goal of the season with Basalma getting the assist. Next up for Moorestown is a date with Cherry Hill East on November 19th. Township will play Cinnaminson on Friday night at Voorhees.
