Justin Nugent had six assists and Sean Joyce had a hat trick as Cinnaminson doubled up Holy Cross 8-4 in an opening round game at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Brandon Greenberg and Kevin Rafferty added two goals each for Cinnaminson while Steve Petitte had a hat trick for Holy Cross.

Cinnaminson jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Nugent set-up Greenberg at the eleven minute mark and after winning the center ice face-off he sent Joyce in for his first goal of the night and suddenly Holy Cross was down two goals. Taylor Arcani made it 3-0 just about three minutes later, again on a feed from Nugent. Rafferty joined the scoring frenzy with five minutes left in the period converting on the power play with Nugent and Arcani assisting.

Petitte finally put Holy Cross on the board five minutes into the second period and the moments later his shot from the point found its way into the net and we had a game at 4-2. But Cinnaminson responded as Nugent broke in with Joyce on a 2-on-1 break and after drawing the defensemen over he slid the puck to Joyce who had half the net to shot at and his goal made it 5-2 heading into the third period. Petitte completed his natural hat trick in the opening seconds and Holy Cross was alive at 5-3.

Goals by Joyce and Greenberg restored the four goal lead at 7-3 before Chris Burns cut it to 7-4 at the four minute mark. Rafferty would respond shortly after that goal and Holy Cross would be one game away from elimination.
