Seven different players scored for Washington Township on Friday as they defeated EEW 8-1 in cross-over action played at Hollydell. Jason Smith led the way with two goals and one assist, Frank Hughes added a goal and two assists. Zack Burkhardt stopped 20 shots in capturing his first win of the season.

Tyler Benton opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game with Smith and Dylan Souders getting the assists. Less than one minute later, on the power play, Hughes blast from the point found the net and the lead was 2-0 with Eric Dale getting the lone assist.

EEW cut the lead to 2-1 scoring a power play goal by Andrew Dolan with Sam Amon assisting. MatteoJordan gave Township a 3-1 lead late in the period as his shot found the net through a screen. Township would break open the game in the second period scoring 3 unanswered goals, two by Smith, sandwiched around a goal by Riley Griffith to take a commanding 6-1 lead. Goals by Souders and Doug Sanders in the third period closed out the scoring and Township evened its record at 1-1.

Next up for Township is a game against Cinnaminson at the Skate Zone on Monday.
