Coming off a team record in shots with 63 in their last game Clearview did not record 20 shots as they lost to Moorestown 5-0 at Hollydell on Friday night. It was the second straight loss to Moorestown in the last week, after Clearview had won four games in a row. Vada Mangum recorded his 3rd shutout of the season and William Sulpizio led Moorestown with two goals. After a scoreless first period, Sulpizio gave Moorestown the only goal they would need early in the second period with Chris DeRose and Liam Ridge getting the assists.

Late in the period Moorestown made it 2-0 Brett Woyshner with John McCollough getting the helper. Clearview when able to generate some offense was limited to one chance and no rebounds. Early in the third period Ridge’s blast from the point found the net and it was 3-0. Eric Schwartz made it 4-0 at the seven minute mark and Sulpizio closed out the scoring late in the game as McCollough won the face-off back to Sulpizio who quickly deposited his team high 19th goal of the season into the net.

Moorestown goes into the holiday break tied with Cherokee and the division will come down to the end of the season when the teams play twice in a weeks’ time. Moorestown will have to figure out a way to beat Cherokee if it wants to recapture the title.
