Cherokee scored six goals in an eight minute span of the first period to jump out to a 6-1 lead and went on to defeat the EEW 8-3 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. John Martino led the attack with three goals and Brian Miller added two goals. Nick Stengel, Avery Harwan and Kevin Hall scored the goals for the EEW. Stengel opened the scoring just one minute into the game as the EEW had the early lead, and it would stay that way for about five minutes, then the Chiefs got rolling as Miller and Martino scored goals twenty four seconds apart to give Cherokee a 2-1 lead.

Then Aaron Huffnagle on the power play and Martino one minute later. Also on the power play gave Cherokee a 4-1 lead. Eighteen seconds later Anthony Fenu scored to give Cherokee a 5-1 advantage. Zach Hendrickson added a goal with fifteen seconds left in the period to make it 6-1 heading into the middle stanza. Harwan and Hall scored the only goals of the second period to cut the lead to 6-3. Goals by Martino and Miller put away the EEW in the third period.
