Six different players scored goals for Moorestown as they defeated Washington Township 7-1 at Hollydell on Friday night. Moorestown has beaten Township in all 4 meetings out-scoring them 21-5. On the flip side Moorestown has lost both games to Cherokee while Township has beaten them twice and tied once, go figure.

On this night however, after a scoreless first period, Jeff Briggs notched his sixth goal of the season in the opening minute of the second period. John Yedman made it 2-0 three minutes later with Luke Stewart and Chris DeRose getting the assists. Township broke through on the power play at the eight minute mark as Matteo Jordan set-up Dylan Souders to cut the lead to 2-1. Vada Mangum shut the door as Township would not score again. Mike Katz would score the next two goals, one at the five minute mark and one in the final second of the period as Will Sulpizio sent him in on a break and his shot just beat the buzzer for a 4-1 lead.

Moorestown made it 5-1 as John McCollough scored a power play goal just two minutes into the third period, as he came untouched right up the middle for his tenth goal of the season. Sulpizio scored his team high 20th of the season three minutes later for a 6-1 lead. Rose closed out the scoring thirty seconds later. Notes: This was second consecutive game where Township goalie Ryan McCusker was pulled after giving up 5 goals in each game. McCusker has been one of the best goalies in the league, and his GAA is barely over 2.15. Township will need a confident McCusker heading into the playoffs, and more help defensively, if they have any shot in winning.
