Moorestown, H/L/V and Riverfront all enter the double elimination Tournament as the top seeds, however it’s not where you start but how you finish. Let’s take a look at each Tier:
Tier 1 - With only 4 teams this is probably the easiest one to pick, only because of the amount of teams. Moorestown had the best record and only had 2 losses all season, both to Cherokee, but won 8-4 in final meeting and finished the year 8-0-1 in their last nine games. Cherokee finished the year 6-1-2 and will be Moorestowns’ biggest threat, usually comes down to goaltending, with the slight edge going to Mangum over Witkoski.
Tier 2 - H/L/V had to come down to the last game needing one point to clinch first over a hard charging Black Horse team, and got that one point against Township. Black Horse finished the year going 8-1 in their last nine games including a win over H/L/V and is peaking at the right time. H/L/V finished 4-2-3 after starting the season 4-1-1. Black Horse seems to have the momentum; in nets both teams alternate goalies, offensively H/L/V averages one more goal per game. Will come down to discipline and special teams with slight edge to H/L/V.
Tier 3 - Riverfront has been on top all season, closing out their last nine games at 6-1-2. Solid goaltending and an offense that averages over six goals a game makes them the team to beat. Mainland and St Joe’s will battle to see who makes the finals, but clearly Riverfront is the huge favorite.
