Matt Cozzan and Nick Manning each scored twice as Mainland held off St Joe’s 6-4 and remained unbeaten at 11-0-2. St Joe’s trailed 4-0 early into the third period and mounted a comeback but fell short late in the period. Mainland scored the only two goals of the first period, both coming late as Manning and Cozzan scored less than one minute apart and the lead was 2-0. Neither team would score in the second period and after Mainland got goals from Dominik Newman right after the opening face-off and Cozzan’s second the lead was 4-0 less than three minutes into the third period.
St Joe’s started its comeback with Anthony Lovell and Trevor Rucci scoring goals thirty-six seconds apart to cut the lead to 4-2. Tim Vant gave Mainland a 5-2 lead scoring twenty seven seconds later. Dominic Maggi and Paul Petrongolo would bring St Joe’s to within 5-4 with just over two minutes left, but Manning scored an empty net goal to keep Mainland unbeaten.
