With both teams missing key players, Cherokee struggled early against Black Horse and led only 2-1 with five minutes played in the third period, but the Chiefs exploded for six goals in a span of nine minutes to win going away, 8-1. Tom Janus led the Chiefs with three goals and Tim Ryan added two to pace the offense. Getting her third start in nets for Black Horse, Giana Rifici was solid in nets through two periods giving up goals to Janus in the first and one to Ryan in the second and Cherokee led just 2-0 late in to the second period.
