As we begin 2015 and head towards the playoffs let’s take a look at the division leaders and where they should finish:
American Division: Washington Township has a 3 point lead with two games in hand and has winnable games against Shawnee, EEW and HLV. They would seem to be in the driver’s seat for the top seed in the division. Cherokee is still the 4 time champ and needs to get there offense going if they want a 5th title. Clearview has proved they can play with anybody and could surprise here depending on the goaltending. Moorestown has struggled within the division going 1-6-1.
National Division: Mainland is the clear choice right now having lost just one game this season, but has just a 2 point lead with one game in hand. EEW is riding a 5 game winning streak and should be Mainland’s toughest competition. Shawnee has had a resurgence this season led by Jake Pearlstein and is on the rise.
Olympic Division: Closest race with top 3 teams each having just one loss. Riverfront is leading but St Joe’s and Middle Township are right there and this playoff round robin should feature some exciting games. Riverfront leads by 2 points over St Joe’s but has played one more game, Middle Township trails by 7 points but has three games in hand. This division could finish in a dead heat. Playoffs begin Monday February 9th.
